Happy Tuesday - Queen Of Hearts

This new item started its life as a custom order I designed for a Queen Of Hearts costume, but I liked the result so much I'm going to keep it around as one of my few cosplay-ish items. Also, the picture looks delightfully alienish. Alright, check out these photos while I run off to the post office (again) !

Happy Monday with World Peace

Good morning everyone! I've been pretty busy preparing for Sakura Con with Tea Time Inc, but I just had to take a minute to show you all my new micro-collection of Continents World Peace Lockets. Claire from Five Leaf Clover found me these awesome little vintage pendants of each continent and I just had to turn them into new World Peace items. There is only one for each continent and they are one-of-a-kind items. Enjoy!

Thanks and don't forget to visit my shop! I'm having an End-Of-March Sale!

Silver Sunday Favorites

Well, I think spring has finally come to San Francisco. It has been brilliantly sunny for the last few days and I've been wanting desperately to go play in the park all day long. Instead I have been diligently preparing for my upcoming event Sakura Con and a trip up to Washington. Here is a sneak peak at some of my new favorite items, which are coincidentally all in silver tone.

Up first we have a working clock pendant necklace with charasmatic little wings and a sterling silver chain:

Next is from my new batch of hairclips. These called Dieselpunk Lolita Star Hairclips. Check out my shop for more in steampunk style.

And finally a simple but awesome new necklace from my semi-permenant signature collection (more about this later). This is a real clock winding key with realistic wings and loaded with personification.

Don't forget to visit my shop. I've having a sale for the next few days while I prepare for Sakura Con. Come check it out!

Good Morning Friday... Itty Pockwatch Locket

I've been fighting with the Wi Fi on my laptop, trying in vain to bask in the sun while I list some new items, so I've been a bit slower than usual this morning, but here's a sneak peak at a cute little piece I have on sale today. Its very tiny!

Thursdays Favs: Great Gatsby Inspired

What does an increasingly worsening and expanding Recession remind you of? Well, anyone who knows me knows that one of my favorite sources of literary hedonism is F. Scott Fitzgerald. In out current global financial situation, I find myself daydreaming about the styles of the newly diesel powered post-war era. Celebrate our own economic recession by channeling the the very irreverent decadence and romantic cynicism of the 1920's the led to the Great Depression!

This week we have two Gatsby-Inspired Vintage items that are worth high-lighting.

Stick around for more coming soon and check out my shop!

Here Comes The (steampunk) Sun

Photoshop ate my brain, so I'm just copying the description it wrote in a sleep deprived stupor earlier this morning.

Here Comes the (steampunk) Sun... do do do do....

Unleash the romantic side of steampunk with this Neo Victorian pendant necklace. Featuring antique style frame and vintage metal findings, this design reminds me of the sun coming up over sepia tone urban landscape, its light bathing a dreary scene in warm and hopeful sunlight.

Banner for Claire

So, you all know Claire, right? She's recently opened up her own etsy store Five Leaf Clover to start offering her kitty ears and tails to the open arms of the internet. She and I will be vending together in Seattle at Sakura con, and I hope to see all of you there. I made her a banner for the opening of her new shop, so you all should check it out. Best ears online!

And while you're at it, come check out my shop! Lots of awesome!

Monday's New and Awesome Items

Okay, I finally listed the top hat, so click here to check it out. I only get 5 pictures on etsy, and I spent forever working on the photos for this hat, so I'll show you some of the ones that didn't make it into the listing here.

Which do you like best?

Sunday's Favorite New Item of the Evening

Hope you all had a great weekend, I'm not entirely sure what happened to mine. This is just a quick update to show you this intriguing new leather cuff I just listed. I have lots of new items in process, so I've been working hard to get them listed and ready to show.

Why is this cuff so cool? It has moving and detachable parts, which are inherently awesome. Arrows spin, and independently of each other, and the clips attach and disattach. Also, it looks really pretty.

Well, what do you think?

Don't forget to come over to my shop and say hello!

Did you know...??

Steam Society is going to be at SakuraCon 2009 in Seattle! You can come meet me in person from April 10th through 12th at the Washington State Convention Center. I'm vending with my often-mentioned fellow designer friend Naomi as well as Claire and the infamous and shadowy manga artist Loch. Look for me at the 20x10 Tea Time Inc booth in the dealers room. We'll be stocked full with steampunkery, gothic lolita tomfoolery, cosplay madness and a heaping dose of hedonism, all availible for immediate purchase and consumption. YES!

Need more convincing? Check us out last year with our mega-kawaii booth Momo-Neko Chan. We'll be dressed as Mischevious Steampunk Lolita Space Pirate Ambassadors From Outer Space Who Like Snacks and Strangers.

A Taste Of Things to Come...

Welcome to my world at 5:30 am. I'm working on processing a huge batch of new pictures of exciting upcoming products and designs. I like this particular photo and wanted to share it with all of you. The top hat is the first sample in what I have decided is going to become a line of striped full size top hats. The necklace is a member of my "omg moving parts" jewelry line. (Just kidding, its going to be called steampunk something something neo victorian key word OOAK or something). The top is a one of a kind design I made a while ago. I'm not sure if it will turn into a production item, but I think its cool. Tell me what you think.

And just for kicks, please visit my shop!

Opulent Temple w/ Carl Cox Massive

First, welcome to the new blog for Steam Society. You can check out my website-in-process at www.SteamSociety.com or my online shop at www.SteamSociety.etsy.com.

Okay, onward. Thank you to all of you who came out to Treasure Island on March 6th to the Opulent Temple Burning Man Fundraiser Massive party with Carl Cox. This party was indeed massive and an incredibly massive success thanks to the hard work and mad organizational skills of the core members of Opulent Temple. I was lucky enough to be the vendor coordinator for this event and a vendor as well with my good friend Naomi Bell from over at www.TeaTimeInc.etsy.com. Naomi was a vending rockstar and has some insanely awesome stuff for sale, so check her out!

The party got some great news coverage which is worth checking out if you haven't already:

This photo of a pair of Playa Monster Goggles from my upcoming line of things for your head made it into the local news, and can be found in my shop here
